SAL Update 5.23.21

Hello Friends! No stitchy progress this go around, but I did prep my fabric for the next block. Here’s Block 18 – Bee Bountiful. I took the liberty to do a little redesign on this barn as the original left off the roofline and I found it to look a bit incomplete. I’m much happier with the touch up! The cornstalks and the bee is teeny so I tried very hard to be soft handed with my tracing, but ultimately I’ll have to reference the paper design to ensure I stitch the corn and leaves where they should be. Loading to my q-snap and I’ll get to backstitching soon!

We post an update on our own project every three weeks and encourage each other to make more progress and stay motivated. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the SAL group has progressed with their projects this time around. Read along with me by clicking the blog links below:

SAL Update 5.2.21

Finally! Block 17 Bee Happy is now finished! In fact, I finished it today and the block is fresh out of the sink laying out to dry. It took a while for all of the water soluble stabilizer to come out of all those tiny spaces. My hands definitely hurt, this block was heavy in backstitch as you can see. Probably my least favorite block to stitch, but it might be my favorite finished block!

Here’s where I was before:

SAL Update 4.12.21

Apologies to my SAL friends, Sunday got away from me and I’m posting my update a day late. Thank you all so much for voting last time on which sunflower you wanted to see next. Burgundy was the winner and I’m happy to see a full flower in this color. Petals and centers are finally done. Now I just need to backstitch all the stems in green, finish up the bees, and move on to the next block!

Here’s where I was before:

And here’s where I am now! Sorry for the wrinkles, I’m having to stitch in hand due to the wool centers.
