SAL Update 4.12.21

Apologies to my SAL friends, Sunday got away from me and I’m posting my update a day late. Thank you all so much for voting last time on which sunflower you wanted to see next. Burgundy was the winner and I’m happy to see a full flower in this color. Petals and centers are finally done. Now I just need to backstitch all the stems in green, finish up the bees, and move on to the next block!

Here’s where I was before:

And here’s where I am now! Sorry for the wrinkles, I’m having to stitch in hand due to the wool centers.

We post an update on our own project every three weeks and encourage each other to make more progress and stay motivated. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the SAL group has progressed with their projects this time around. Read along with me by clicking the blog links below:

Happy Stitching!

  1. Like me you may have been late Christina but at least you have plenty to show for it. I love this blog, but then I have loved all the blogs so far. I will “bee” happy to see the next one appear soon, as I am sure the stems and leaves will not take you to long. xx

  2. The burgundy was the perfect choice Christina. The centres of the sunflowers must have taken ages, so you will enjoy the speed of the back stitch. BTW, what is the stitch you used in the centres?

    • Thanks, Anne! That’s the easiest part actually. I might have tricked your eyes, but it’s just a circle of brown wool, whipped stitch all around to secure 😊

  3. The heavy lifting is done now! The sunflowers are just wonderful, the colors are perfect! Easy stitching to finish this one up now? Unless the real garden gets in the way!
