Last weekend mom and I enjoyed a day at our local quilt show. While we were open to shopping for all kinds of goodies, I did have a special project in mind. I needed a neutral fabric pairing for a whole cloth baby quilt. My best friend is expecting her first this Fall and I wanted to make a special baby quilt for her and sweet Emilee ❤
Here’s my quilt show haul! They had some great selections this year. Lots of new vendors and packed to capacity with quilts! I found a great fabric bundle, which came with the “Stepping Stones” pattern, an organizational stand and fabric kit, a needle threader, a mini Christmas quilt pattern “Bah Humbug”, which reminded me of Petey, and finally the perfect fabric for my whole cloth baby quilt. The very next day, I trimmed the fabric and started basting the quilt!
I free motion quilted some loops and finished it off with the same yellow fabric for the binding. I had a perfectly matching quilt label from a Gingiber panel in my stash, which I hand appliqued on to the bottom back corner. I finished this quilt in one day!
I had an extra receiving blanket I made a while back and decided to include that with my gift. I washed and dried both blankets and had just enough burlap ribbon for this nice finished bow. Mom-to-be requested no wrapped gifts so everyone can see the lovely gifts without a show and tell. So clever!
