SAL Update 1.1.2023 | A Year Inspired

Happy 2023 Everyone! I hope you all had a a wonderful New Years Eve, whether you were out celebrating with friends and family or if you stayed cozy at home stitching. I was definitely part of the latter!

For my 2023 SAL, I’ve decided to switch things up a little with a new start. My new start is a year long stitch along designed by Stitchdoodles, A year Inspired by William Morris. If you know William Morris, than you are familiar with his beautiful textile designs and I’m so excited to reproduce them with thread.

The first month’s stitch guide was just released a couple of hours ago, so I’m off to get started!

A perfect project for my William Morris project bag! I’ll be sure to continue making progress on my scarlet quince full coverage and share some progress updates from time to time. Many thanks for all your encouragement in 2022!

We post an update on our own project every three weeks and encourage each other to make more progress and stay motivated. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the SAL group has progressed with their projects this time around. Read along with me by clicking the blog links below:

SAL Update 4.24.22 | Nature Diary

Oops! No progress to report on my full coverage project. I definitely wanted to work on it, but these last three weeks have been especially busy with custom orders and preparing for an upcoming trip. In fact, I think the only stitching I’ve gotten in lately was a new start at the dealership when I was waiting on my oil change and car inspection… So with that, I want to leave you with some cute progress on my Nature Diary Series (aka for the Junk Journal) I think the last time I stitched on this was the beginning of the month:

SAL Update 3.13.22 | Beeutiful QAL Block 20

Sorry friends for the late post, but today we were at the Dallas Quilt Show where my mom entered her quilt and received a third place ribbon!

Portage Lake by Minick and Simpson

But now for the stitching and I’m excited to announce that we finally have a happy dance! I have finished block 20 and that concludes the embroidery for the Beeutiful Quilt Along hosted by the Moda Bakeshop, which you can find all the free pdfs on their blog. Here’s where I was on block 20 last time:

And here it is all complete! It was bittersweet stitching up that last bee:

Here’s the slideshow of all previous blocks 🙂
