No new progress on my full coverage piece this round. In the past three weeks, I’ve celebrated my birthday, ventured to the Houston International Quilt Festival, and started a new cross stitch project in hopes of finishing up and gifting before Christmas.
This is where I’m at with my new start. Its one design from a series of 5 called December Down Under by Lindy Stitches. I’m stitching up the Kiwi Bird design for my husband’s friend who had a dream he was a kiwi bird. It should make for a funny gift!
Do you see that lovely Shaker Basket? That was a birthday gift to me from my aunt and I’m loving that it holds my sewing notions and threads for this project. Another birthday gift that I received was this stunning quilt from my mom. It was a block of the month that she had been working on since February! I can’t believe she kept this well hid little secret from me for so long β€ I love the colors, the design, and all the kitties on the quilt!
And here’s some more family pics from one of our days at quilt festival:

Hopefully more progress on Scarlet Quince for the next round. Until then, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We post an update on our own project every three weeks and encourage each other to make more progress and stay motivated. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the SAL group has progressed with their projects this time around. Read along with me by clicking the blog links below:
