Happy to have made some progress this round. Some more fill in and a leaf is starting to take shape. 387 stitches since my last update, 26.6% complete.
Here’s where I was before:
And here’s where I am today!
Ok, well maybe that leaf will look more leaf-like next time I post an update. Mom came to visit this morning for coffee and stitching and she was able to complete her applique project! She started this Hawaiian inspired Big Island Blossom block through a class led by Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill who signed the fabric down in the bottom right.
We post an update on our own project every three weeks and encourage each other to make more progress and stay motivated. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the SAL group has progressed with their projects this time around. Read along with me by clicking the blog links below:

I have always wanted to make a Hawaiian appliqued quilt, but I don’t think my hands could do the applique anymore. You have done a lot of stitching in the past three weeks.

Thanks Cathie! Maybe you could fuse and machine applique it?

You are doing well. These confetti stitches sometimes make it hard to tell what you are stitching but once each section is complete these projects really come to life x

Definitely! It surprises me too when I stand back and see what those little stitches actually did to the piece. Thank you!

That’s a lot of stitching when you consider that it’s confetti. Confetti takes sooo much time, but the results are beautiful. I love your leaf.

Thanks! While I don’t get the satisfaction of completing motifs, I do enjoy the process and look forward to seeing the outcome.
