Hi friends, I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m still working on Block 19 – Bee Adventurous. I joined my mom on a 7 hour round trip drive on Friday and that’s when I put in the most progress since we last updated you 3 weeks ago. I was able to finish the minty green backstitch for the majority of the truck and made a start on the satin stitch tires. The tires are taking forever and I’m not the best at satin stitching, so this is making for much needed practice. Here’s where I was before:
and here I am now!
We post an update on our own project every three weeks and encourage each other to make more progress and stay motivated. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the SAL group has progressed with their projects this time around. Read along with me by clicking the blog links below:

Happy Stitching!
Those green stitches are so well defined. Did you use pearl cotton? Very neat as always.

Thanks Avis! Nope, just regular DMC, 3 strands.

The pictures look like such simple outlines that you are inclined to forget all the work that goes into them. All those tiny backsitches and now satin stitch – so difficult to keep it dead straight. I am loving seeing each of these pictures grow and watching all the work you put into them Christina xx

Thank you so much Helen! Definitely hard to keep the straight lines, I’m trying to love the whimsy vibes 🙂

That is definitely a whole lot of satin stitch practice, but it looks like you are doing well with it. This is going to be very pretty.

Thanks so much Cathie! I’ve always been intrigued with those beautiful embroidered floral pieces with all the satin stitched petals…but after these tires I’ve decided that might not be for me lol!

Thanks, Kathy! I don’t go on many and of course there was a lot of chatting too 🙂 But the little extra stitches that went in were a help!

Well done on the satin stitch and extremely tidy backstitch! I struggle with making sure my satin stitch is “full” but not “crowded”, and yours looks perfect!

Thank you so much! I tried a “V” method that I saw on instagram. I should probably view/read more on tips and tricks for satin stitch.
