SAL Update 12.23

I have a wonderful update to share today! I finished my Winnie the Pooh Project and I’m doing a happy dance 😀

If it wasn’t for this SAL group, I’d probably still have this project tucked away, turned UFO. Very grateful for my fellow group of stitchers and for my readers for motivating me through this project.

I started this on 7/25/2016 and finished 12/22/2018. It is stitched on 18 count oatmeal aida. The pattern is by LCStitchery and you can find it here on Etsy.

I re-stitched Eeyore’s eye. What do you think?

I found the perfect Winnie the Pooh fabric on Etsy that I purchased last year. I need to find matching pom-pom trim and then I will finish this into a pillow. I hope to do this after Christmas while I’m on break.

I look forward to seeing how everyone else is doing on their projects. If you would like to join or stitching group, contact Avis below for the details. We’d love to have you join us!

  1. Congratulations on a beautiful finish. It looks fab, and I love the expression on Eeyore’s face 🙂
It’ll look brilliant as a cushion, especially with that lovely fabric.

    • Thank you! Oops, I forgot to mention! I want to bring out my full coverage UFO. I ordered a large frame holder for my Lowery stand. Just get to me in a week or two.

  2. They look all pooped out after their holiday celebrations! Congratulations on the finish – it’s going to be a darling pillow. Now you have the fun of choosing the next project to work on! Merry Christmas!

  3. Yay! Eeyore is much more cheerful now; in fact, the whole group looks happy and ready to celebrate with you. I’d go with black pompom edging, to pick up the outlines, but I know whatever you choose will look great. Happy Christmas 🙂

    • Ooh! I didn’t think of black! That sounds intriguing! That would pair nicely with the teal fabric and the greys in my bedding. Thanks for the suggestion Kate!

  4. Beautiful – and as I am late to your site I have also seen the finished cushion – it looks wonderful. I am particularly impressed with your attention to detail in choosing the backing fabric. The pom-pom trim really finishes the cushion off beautifully. Congratulations on your lovely finish!

    • Thank you so much! Since I’ve been working on this piece for so long, I remember thinking how perfect that fabric would be when Camelot Fabrics released it 😊 The pom poms were a little difficult to work with and I’m glad black was suggested because it’s perfect!
