I’ve had this baby quilt complete for about a month now, but just recently gifted it. I’m happy to now share with you my Scenic Route baby quilt. I named this quilt after the main line featured by Riley Blake Designs. I found some great coordinating solids and prints that made this baby boy quilt so cheerful. To showcase all the fun prints of Scenic Route, I decided on the trusty strip quilt by Thirty Handmade Days. I’ve used this pattern many times and it’s one of my favorites for a baby quilt. I made some minor adjustments by using less strips for a smaller quilt. I quilted along each strip 1/4″ away from the seam and added zig-zag quilting in the large strips to keep everything in place. I backed the quilt in a solid brown neutral that matches the little squirrels and finished it off with a pop of orange binding.
Quality inspection met all expectations and passed with flying colors from the sewing inspector below!
(Quilt washed before gifting!)
Cheerful colors! I’m sure baby will enjoy this fall and winter. And I see inspection passed.

Thank you so much Kathy! I love that while this pattern is simple, it shows off the most fabric. The less piecing and quilting also makes for a soft quilt 😊
